Education Go Get it Week
Next week is Education Go Get It Week! Each day a Live Oak teacher will highlight a college or university during our broadcast time for the purpose of providing students with information and awareness of higher education. We encourage students to dress up each day as follows:
- Monday, September 22 – Education, we’ve got it! Wear a Live Oak spirit shirt.
- Tuesday, September 23 – Step up for education! Wear tennis shoes.
- Wednesday, September 24 – Dress for success! Dress professionally or dress up as what you want to be when you grow up.
- Thursday, September 25 – Be bright and go to college! Wear bright colors.
- Friday, September 26 – My future is college-bound! Wear a college t-shirt.
Remember, “After high school…comes more school!”
Parents, families, and friends of Live Oak Elementary-
This year we will be continuing the program called STARS Mentors and we NEED you! Through this program, you will visit with a student for 30 minutes every week, usually during their lunch break. During this time, you can choose to use preplanned activities or just spend time visiting with the student. Many kids need positive role models in their lives, and you can be that special someone! If this sounds like the perfect way to give back to the community or to our school, please read more about the program and requirements on this site: https://www.roundrockisd.org/departments/counseling-services/stars-mentor-program/ Thank YOU for making a difference!
Please contact Tracey Boler at 512-464-6177 about program questions or Kristen Wike at 428-3808 or Karen Lohman 428-3807 for questions about being a Live Oak mentor. Thank you for your support!
